Margarita was born in Durres, Albania on April 26, 1957. She graduated with a degree in Economics from the Shkoolla Naim Frasheri. She was married to the love of her life, Vangjel Qaqi, on August 10th, 1983 and in him found the most supportive and loving husband that she could have asked for. Their family grew to include three wonderful boys. Margarita dreamed of having a better life for her children and for many years took incredibly brave journeys in order to provide those opportunities to them. Whether she was baby-sitting, owning a cleaning company and a supermarket, or immigrating to different countries throughout Europe she always fought for what was best for her children.
After over two decades living in Athens, Greece and working hard to find better opportunities to give to her kids, she was granted the opportunity to bring her family to the United States, eventually calling Florida her home. While her family had moved far away from where they began, her love for Greece and all their traditions lived on. She continued to celebrate their traditional Greek holidays, making sure they had red eggs every Easter. Margarita’s incredible work ethic allowed her to continue to work many different roles in the US introducing her to wonderful coworkers who weren’t just friends, but family. Despite holding many positions over the years, the role she was most proud of was her position in hospitality at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.
Although she was faced with the challenge of learning English as a second language as an adult, she pushed herself to attend night classes after work to be able to advance in her roles, exceeding expectations in everything that she did. Although she always had a desire to work, passing on that work ethic to her sons, she also taught them to value the importance of staying united as a family. Whether that meant being employed alongside her sons or having nightly family dinners, she made sure her family always felt her unconditional love for them. Margarita spent her life always putting her family first regardless of the circumstances they were in and because of that her sons have remained truly united throughout every stage of life.
She is survived by her husband, Vangjel, sons Emiliano, Marlen, and Kristian, their wives Ikram, Sandra, and Sacia, her beloved “superstar” granddaughter Evelyn, and her sister Dhora Laci. While her family mourns the loss of their incredible and irreplaceable matriarch, they are incredibly grateful that Margarita always knew how much she meant to them and all those she deemed friends and family.
A funeral service for Margarita will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
