Marian Thomas Porter, 86, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Marian was born on July 13, 1929 in Madison County, North Carolina to the late Flethcher Rice and Agnes Chandler. She is preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth Lloyd Thomas. Marian is survived by her husband Harvey Cecil Porter, son Richard P. (Allison) Thomas, daughters Karen Lynn (Theodore) Smith, Pamela Renee Sloan, and Valerie Ann Wickizer; brothers Bob Rice, Mike Rice, and Randy Rice; sisters Jeanette Moran and Linda Rice; and her grandchildren Matthew Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Jessica Sloan, Wyatt Wickizer, Sydney Thomas, Haylee Sloan, Patrick Thomas, Ivy Wickizer, and Abigail Thomas.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 14, 2015 from 2:00-3:00 pm in the Meadows Room at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
