

Millicent Agatha Davis, 83, of Orlando, FL passed away on October 13, 2014. She was born to the late Theophilus and Matilda Johnson on September 14, 1931 in Manchester, Jamaica. She moved from Jamaica to London, then to Boston, and finally to Orlando in the 1980s. She was a beautician and also worked in the medical field as a care giver for many years. Davis Group Home of Orlando was owned by Millicent and her husband, Cecil Davis. Millicent also was a member of Powers Drive Baptist Church in Orlando where she also sang, one of her many passions. She was a member of the YMCA, as well as the Ball Club that would visit nursing homes and pray for the residents. She truly was a lovely woman who never knew a stranger and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Millicent was preceded in her passing by her siblings Esme, Vern, Samuel, Sarah, Lloyd, Lovell, and Densley.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Cecil Davis; her Sons Crosby E. Davis (Joan) and James Knowles (“Vee”); her Daughters Janet Davis, Rena Davis, Orleen Smith (Courtney); her Brother Earl Johnson (Doris); 7 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm with a service at 7pm on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734.
Funeral Service will take place at 10am at Powers Drive Baptist Church, 3311 Powers Drive, Orlando, FL 32818 with viewing starting at 9am prior to service.
Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
