Affectionately known as “Nann” to her cherished family and friends, Nannette Elvira D’Amato passed peacefully into the Lord’s embrace on August 24, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born on June 23, 1936, in West Orange, New Jersey, Nannette was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Theresa Christiano. A proud graduate of West Orange High School, she pursued a career in healthcare, earning a certificate as an X-ray technician shortly after graduation. Her passion for medical imaging led her to complete an associate degree in diagnostic medical sonography in 1980.
Nannette’s professional journey brought her to Florida, where she settled first in Coral Springs and later in Delray Beach with her family. She dedicated 20 years of service as an ultrasound technician at Boca Raton Community Hospital, retiring in 2001. She and her devoted husband of 57 years, Richard Gregory D’Amato, then relocated to Orlando, Florida to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
In retirement, Nannette and Richard embraced the joys of family life, spending countless memorable days exploring Central Florida’s theme parks and attractions with their loved ones. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Nannette was preceded in death by her husband Richard (2015), her brother Patrick Christiano (Dorothy), and her sister Diane Fortino (Andrew). She is survived by her three children: Leslee D’Amato-Kubiet, Dina Thompson, and Gregory D’Amato (Diane); and five grandchildren: Alexander Kubiet (29), Nicholas Kubiet (26), Jacqueline Thompson (30), Robert “Bobby” Thompson (23), and Elliott D’Amato (22).
