It is without question that Patricia Y. Wade was blessed and loved. Patricia’s passion and zeal for life and people, her humor and exuberant smile were hallmarks of her personality and will forever be missed by the many she touched. During the evening of Saturday, October 10, 2015 at
7:20 p.m., Patricia quietly passed away.
On July 23, 1951 Patricia Yeldell Wade was born to Ella Mae Harrison Yeldell and Henry Gary Yeldell. Patricia was the third of four children (three girls and one boy), Annie Nicholson, Linda Y. Suswell and David Yeldell (deceased). Pat lost her mother at a young age and her father as a teenager and was reared by her aunts.
Pat received her early education in Greenwood, South Carolina. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1969. She later attended Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina and graduated with a degree in Biology. She attended Bailey Bethel AME Church in Greenwood, South Carolina. She served on the usher Board and sang on the Youth Choir.
While attending Claflin University, she met the love of her life. They became husband and wife and have been married for forty two years. Two beautiful girls were born to this union, Tikeisha and Alyssa, a step-daughter, who preceded her in death, Shauna Cain.
They lived in Bronx, New York for twelve years and Johnny’s job transferred him to Orlando, FL. Pat was very happy about it, she was ready for some warm weather. Pat obtained work at Wells Fargo Bank, found The Life Center Church, joined and served as an usher, then became a member of The Life Singers Choir. As we all know The Life Center Church Singers became very, very important to her. She loved going to rehearsal and Bible Study. Those of us, who knew Pat, loved her.
