

Peter William Tilquist passed away early Sunday morning on the 24th of May. He was at his home in the Villages with his 2 sons and daughter in law as he heeded the call to heaven. Peter was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey and grew up in the Morgan area. He is a Korean War veteran and served in the U. S. Air Force from 1950 -1953. Peter was married in 1960 to Marie Crane blissfully for 53 years. They had 2 children Peter II of Hollywood, Florida and James W. of Daytona Beach, Florida. Peter worked for Food Fair (Pantry Pride) for over 20 years until the company closed in the New Jersey area.
The family then moved to the central Florida area in 1978 where he worked for Orange County School Board as an electrician. He retired from there and relocated with his wife to the Villages in 1996 where he was active in golf and botchi when they first arrived. They both later joined the Lions Club and were active members; receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow award. Peter was also in the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Peter has 1 surviving sister who lives in New Jersey he had 3 other sisters and a brother who have past. He is survived by 2 sons Pete II and James along with his daughter in-law Kelli. He has 4 granddaughters Laurane, Juliane, Elanne, and Sharann 1 grandson Cash along with 1 great grandson Logan.
