

Rakesh Raghuban Singh of Winter Garden, FL, passed away on May 20th, 2024 at the age of 50. He was born in Georgetown, Guyana on November 27th, 1973, where he lived for eleven years prior to relocating to the United States with his mother, Hardai “Data,” father, Boodnarain “Singh,” and two younger sisters, Melanie and Shalini.
Driven by his interest in aviation, Rakesh graduated from College of Aeronautics in 1996 with a Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Technology (Maintenance). He had a career of 20+ years as an Aviation Maintenance Technician with Airframe and Powerplant Certificates for TWA, Continental, and United Airlines.
Rakesh was married to Rita Ramcharitar (Singh) on February 6th, 2000 in Queens Village, NY, where the couple started a family, eventually settling in Central Florida.
Rakesh was recognized as an avid volunteer in the public school system and the surrounding community, as he had a passion for helping students progress from their formal education to fulfilling careers. Any leisure time that he had was spent making memories with his family and friends.
Rakesh is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Ryan, Raymond, and Rayna; parents, Data and Singh; mother-in-law, Churamanie “Dulce” Ramcharitar; siblings, Melanie “Molly” and Shalini “Shelly;” brothers-in-law, Brian, Anil, and Ajit; sisters-in-law, Sandy, Rani, and Ava; nieces and nephews; cousins, as well as his aunts and uncles.
The viewing will be held on May 29th from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., and the funeral will be held on May 30th from 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Both will take place at the Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, found at 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd., Gotha, FL 34734.
