

Kaschai, Ralph Emil of Orlando, Florida, age 85, passed away October 31, 2014. Ralph was born in Pittsburgh (Etna) Pennsylvania. At the age of 14 he went to work in Spang Pipe Mill until he reached the age of 17 when he then joined the Navy as a radio operator on the sea going tug U.S.S. Arikara. During his tour his ship set up and removed ships from the Bikini Atoll Atom Bomb tests Able and Baker. After the navy he went to art school under the GI Bill in Pittsburgh and Orlando. In 1953 he started his company Cashi Signs, "Florida's Oldest Outdoor Advertising Company." In 1956 he met and married the love of his life Fay Raulerson who passed away after 54 years of marriage in 2010. Ralph was a pioneer and innovator of outdoor advertising (billboards) in Central Florida, he built the largest billboard in the southeast, was the first company to build a billboard in Orlando on one pipe (monopole), and the first to bring Tri-Vision Billboards to Central Florida. He sold the family business Cashi Outdoor Advertising in 1996. Ralph loved hunting, the outdoors and being with family. He is survived by his son Ralph Cash Kaschai of Orlando, and his daughter Lisa Fay Kaschai-Kasten of Bushnell, Florida, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grand child.A Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha, Florida (407-293-1361)on November 6, 2014 from 5:00-6:00pm, with a Funeral Service to begin at 6:00pm.
