Richard was born in Vicksburg, MS and grew up in Greenwood, MS, where he was well liked and respected, excelled in football, and was a true leader and example for his teammates and classmates. Awarded a full leadership scholarship, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Recreation.
A Veteran of the US Army, Richard served 2 years active duty and 5 years in the Reserve at the rank of Captain. After discharge, he worked for the North Mississippi YMCA, and was the Y Camp director where he had spent five summers working as a teen. Richard moved to Orlando, FL in 1968 to become the Director of the Northwest Branch of Y Activities, and he was also the director of Camp Wewa for several summers.
He later went into business form printing sales, and at retirement, had his own small company designing and selling business forms for hospitals and medical groups.
Richard was an avid and accomplished bass fisherman, loved his God, football, Jack Daniels, John Wayne movies, and especially his family and friends.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 57 years, Alice Ann Doiron; two sons, Rick O. Doiron and his wife Nancy of Clermont, FL and David A. Doiron and his wife Lisa of Winter Garden, FL; a sister, Nena Doiron Griffis of Greenwood, MS; a brother, Ronald Doiron of Kelso, WA; four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
