Roger M Meyer Sr.

Roger M. Meyer Sr., age 83, of Athens, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Roger was born January 4, 1938 in Frostproof, Florida. He had a career in the U.S. Navy as a Command Master Chief,and as a Civil Servant for the Naval Exchange. Roger had many passions; Fishing, Nascar, Football, and most importantly, his Family. Roger married his sweetheart; Betty Meyer (who precedes him in death) on January 4,1956. Both will be missed greatly by their children; Roger (Tammy) Meyer Jr. of Boonville, NC

Renee (David) Johnson of Athens, AL and Richard Meyer of Dunedin, FL. Roger had 13 adored grandchildren and 8 cherished great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved sister; Gail (Ronnie)Hickman of Bartow, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents; Herbert and Viola Meyer, brothers; Herbert and Lewis Meyer, and sisters; Maryann Routt, Nadine Carney and Helen Montcalm.

A visitation for Roger will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A committal service with military honors will occur Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
