Ruth Virginia Kennedy

On Monday, July 11, 2022, Ruth Kennedy, beloved mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 91. Ruth was born on May 25, 1931 in Catawba, North Carolina. Ruth graduated from Catawba High School in the year of 1949.

She is preceded in death by Coyte Eugene Houston, James Ralph Houston, and Ray Davis Houston, Earl Daniel Kennedy, (Son). She is survived by Daughter and Son in law Janet Kennedy Peterson and Ron Peterson. Daughter-in-law: Jean Goodman Kennedy. Grandchildren: Robert Daniel Kennedy and Rebecca Kennedy, Jeni Kennedy Gonzales, Alana Gonzales Mayo, Robert Daniel Kennedy, Lindsey Frost, Jeremy Frost, Kelly Onofre, Joe Onofre. Great-grandchildren: Haley Kennedy, Isabella Kennedy, Ava Onofre, Anna Onofre, Raelin Frost, Lincoln Frost; Survived by her brothers and sisters, Ben and Wayne Houston, Lois Houston Ballard, Evelyn Houston Shoemaker, Martha Ann Houston Goforth, and Shelby Jane Houston Drum.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at 11:00am at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, with Celebration of Life to follow at 12-noon, followed by burial at 1:00pm, and a Reception at 1:30pm in the same location.
