Known lovingly to her grandchildren as “Anmommy”, Sarah was predeceased by her husband Frank Calhoun. She is survived by her children Jerry Calhoun, Brian Calhoun, Susan Smith (David), and honorary son Rob Rutherford. Sarah leaves behind many grandchildren; Sam Calhoun (Holly) and Sarah Coleman (Randy), April Leyden (Juan Rivera), Rachel Escobar (Alejandro), Jordan Smith (Mindy) and Esther Smith; great-grandchildren Cypress (Ally) and Sage, Randi, Summer, Olivia and Carter, Rocky, Mari, Sophia, David, Ailani, Ava.
Sarah was born in Moorehead, Mississippi and moved with her family to Orlando in 1967. She was a dedicated schoolteacher of 4th and 5th graders at Spring Lake Elementary School for many years. Sarah enjoyed reading and listening to music, especially jazz.
She was a fan of Charles Schultz, of the “Peanuts” cartoon. Once an avid reader, one of her favorite books and author was All Over but the Shoutin’, by Rick Bragg.
