Sarah A. Martin, of Orlando, Florida passed from this earth on November 4, 2014. Born 1932 in Washington, DC, was the daughter of Lillian (Christie) and Gen. James Arthur Pickering. As the daughter of a decorated US Army officer, she resided in several locals throughout her youth and settled in Orlando 33 years ago with her surviving husband, Donald W. (Bill) Martin. Also surviving are son Donald W. (Thad) Martin III (Jo Waits), daughter Kym Marco (Dennis), and granddaughter Karin (Marco) Beal.
Sarah was dedicated to the arts and spent many joyous years as Orlando Museum of Art docent. Yoga was a special interest of hers where she met several dear friends. Sarah will be remembered for her gardens, cooking, love of history and keen wit.
A private service for immediate family is planned.
