Savita Prasad, known to most as Sonia, was born on September 28th, 1974 in the Bronx, New York to Krishna (Robbie) and Chandra Prasad. She is survived by her Mom, Chandra Prasad; husband, Mahendra (Shamee) Appadu; sister, Anita Prasad; daughter, Ashley Yeegeta Appadu; son, Ashton Krishna Mahabir Appadu; grandson, Nathaniel Prasad Appadu-Lincoln; dog, Max; and bird, Tweety. She graduated from Shiloh High School in 1992 and later went on to earn her Masters in accounting at University of Phoenix.
Sonia always took care of her family and friends- from the time she woke up to the time she went to sleep. She had a big heart and was ready to help anyone in need at the drop of a hat. Her smile could light up any room that she walked into, and she could make you laugh even when you didn’t want to. Her welcoming, infectious personality made her the life of any party or gathering that she attended.
Sonia worked at ADS, a place she considered her second home. She loved her ADS family and enjoyed spending time with them. When she wasn’t working or taking care of her family, Sonia enjoyed reading, watching cheesy Sci-fi movies, going to Universal Studios, cruising, and playing with her grandson, Mr. Furley (she thought he looked like him for his facial expressions).
She was a great story teller, the type who couldn’t finish a story because she was laughing too hard. She made an impact on anyone she crossed paths with- even those she only met a few times. She will remain in our hearts forever and will be a pink sparkle shining above us all.
