Shirley was an impeccable mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Her ability to love unconditionally, commitment to family, willingness to forgive, and her eagerness to give without expectation defined her character. She was a devout Christian which is why we know that she now dwells with our heavenly father. We her family, will forever be impacted by her love, her wit, her knowledge, wisdom, and thoughts.
We are all the better because she cared enough to give us an example of belief in God, strength, and endurance. Her last words to each one of us were instructional, encouraging, and uplifting. She reminds us to live on, take care of ourselves and each-other, and to build a relationship with God.
She leaves behind 2 daughters Pam Dickerson- Morris, and Wilshire Laycock-Counsell, 1 son-in-law Wilshire’s husband Carlton Counsell ,5 grandchildren Kyree Morris. Daria Laycock, Khalid Johnson, Kaleem Counsell, and Nakeem Counsell . 2 great grandchildren Amiah Robinson and Arya Johnson. who loved her to life!
We ask for prayers as we journey on upholding her words, instruction, and legacy of love. We vow to live a life that would be pleasing to God and that will honor her. You ran a good race you finished your course, and a crown awaits you! We love you; you are gone but will never be forgotten. We will all strive to have that “good testimony” Mommy, grandma hold our seats we will see you again!
