Dr. Thomas Moraczewski passed away at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 70. Dr. Moraczewski was born on May 24, 1951 to Thaddeus and Sophie Anne Moraczewski (neé Franz) in South Bend, Indiana. Thomas married Neelam Ahmad on June 2, 1973 in Troy, New York and was the proud father of two children: Dr. Alexei Moraczewski (Dr. Jennifer Negrin) of Winter Haven, Florida, and Alya Franklin (Zacharij Franklin) of Reading, California. He adored his three grandchildren: Liam Moraczewski, Landon Moraczewski, and Ajaz Franklin.
Thomas is survived by his twin sisters Carolynn Riddle (Dr. Robert Riddle) of Goshen, Indiana, and Cherylynn Boyd of Culver, Indiana, and two brothers, Dr. Terrence Moraczewski of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Phillip Moraczewski of Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, Thomas entered the Army Medical Student Program and obtained his medical degree from Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. He completed a residency in OB-GYN at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, and was honorably discharged from the Army as a major. In 1983, he started his practice as an OB-GYN physician in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and then moved to Orlando in 2011, where he practiced integrative medicine until 2018.
Thomas and Neelam traveled the world, visiting five continents and hiking several national parks. Some of his favorite trips included a trip to Israel with his mother, an African safari with his wife, a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and a trip to Poland with his sister Cherylynn.
Thomas loved classical music and spread his enthusiasm throughout his family, inspiring and encouraging the pursuit of musical lives in his children and grandchildren. He loved playing piano with his two oldest grandchildren. His love of the written word was expressed through his published books and prolific poetry, detailing his deep knowledge of medicine, ethics, and Christianity. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be deeply missed.
