Troy Lee Shaffer

Troy Lee Shaffer, 90, of Orlando, Florida passed away January 28, 2017. He is survived by: his loving wife of 62 years, Wilda Gay Shaffer; daughter, Kathy Lee Dowell; sons, Randal Joseph Shaffer and Larry Scott Shaffer; and 3 grandchildren, Dylan, Joey, and Sean. He is preceded in death by his parents Golda and Bedford Shaffer; sisters, Pearl and Belva; and brothers, Jessie, Cecil, and Clifford. Troy was from Tucker County West Virginia, born on Texas Mountain and raised in the town of St. George. Troy was a US Air Force veteran of 22 years, served in the 8th Army Air Corp and in the US Air Force during WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War, and retired as Master Sergeant of Communications Cryptography. He was a “Dad” Advisor and Legion of Honor recipient of the Bahia Chapter Order of DeMolay. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Pine Castle Masonic Lodge, former 32 Scottish Rite Mason and Masonic District 7 committee member.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 12:30pm, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida 34734. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: American Heart Association, Florida Masonic Home, or Shiners Hospital.
