Son of the late Arthur E. Madore/Maire Ange St. Denis Madore, the youngest of 6 children. Urbain is survived by 2 daughters; Mrs. Jennifer Seidner and husband Joseph and grandson, Joshua Masterson, of King, NC; and Jessica Madore and two granddaughters, Robyn Roosevelt and Naomi Smith, of Kissimmee, Florida. He is also survived by a sister, Claire Chouinard, of Lewisville, NC.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters, Anita and Therese, and two brothers, Arthur and Alfred. He attended grammar school in Wolcott, VT, and graduated in the class of 1959 from Peoples Academy in Morrisville, VT. After graduating he moved to Massachusetts where he worked for Friendly Restaurants for 33 ½ years. He served as manager in Danbury, CT for 2 years, Mt. Kisco, NY for 10 years, Holyoke, MA for 5 years, and opened the first Friendly’s in Florida in August of 1985 in Altamonte Springs. He retired from Friendly's in 1993 and worked for Publix Supermarkets until he retired in 2007. While working at Friendly’s, he managed the Holyoke, Mall store which was his first million dollar restaurant in 1981. Also, the Friendly’s in Altamonte Springs exceeded a million dollars in sales the first year. He also leaves a partner, Robert Frew, of 30 years. Over the years they traveled frequently in both Europe and the United States, including Alaska.
He was a member of Joy Metropolitan Community Church, Prime timers of Central Florida, and the LGBT Center. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Gotha, FL.
