

Victoria Lynn Wade Rodgers, 61, of Sanford, Florida passed away May 6, 2013 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born on January 22, 1952 to the late Alvin and Lois (Rosier) Penley. Vicki was a remarkable woman who was quiet accomplished. She earned her BA from Rollins College, Winter Park, Florida and her MS in healthcare management from Florida Institute of Technology and worked as a police officer and later earned the position as the Assistant Police Chief of Eustis. She was recognized for being one of the highest ranking police officers in the United States. Vicki moved up north and received her PhD and worked as a professor at Long Island University and then the Vice President of the Good Samaritan Hospital in Long Island. She later moved back to Florida and was a professor at University of Phoenix. Vicki enjoyed coffee and was an avid reader of crime mysteries. She is survived by her husband, Ed Rodgers, Jr.; 3 children, Gregory David Wade, Eric James Wade & Tara Lynn Thornburg; brothers Ronnie Lee and Steve Penley; sister Barbara Perine & 5 grandchildren Chyanne, Gabriel, Chloe, Cearra, & Ashley.
