

Elzerman, Anthony A. (Tony) of Flint Township formerly of Flushing Township left this earth on October 1,2010 to make his last trip through the tunnel of life to meet his Lord Jesus at the end in the Light of God’s Glory to be received by his God and loved ones that have gone on before him after a long battle with cancer. A Christian burial service will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI with Pastor Carl Halquist of Trinity Assembly of God officiating October 5, 2010 at 1:15 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to wife, Sylvia, Marines Taking Care of Kids (Toys For Tots), or Lucky Fund at Riverside Animal Hospital in Flushing. Tony was born October 7, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan. He married Sylvia March 1, 1991. Tony retired from GM Flint Metal Fabrication July 2008 after working there for 32 years. He also served in the U.S. Army from March 1968 to January 1971. While serving in the Army, he fought in the Vietnam War April 1969 to March 1970 and earned the Bronze Star. Surviving is wife, Sylvia, daughter Kimberly of Davison, son Antony Jon “TJ” and wife Teresa of Swartz Creek and stepson C. Brian Bennett and wife Hayley of Marietta, Georgia. Grandchildren are Cole and Brynn Elzerman, Julianna McCulley, and Alana, Aubree, and Alexander Bennett. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Dee Calendar, Debbie Harris and husband Robert and many nieces and nephews.
