Barry L. Barnes

BARNES, BARRY age 70, of Burton, MI., died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1922 Iowa, Flint, MI. Rev. Dr. Jay Gantz officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Church. Barry was born April 11, 1943 in Flint, MI. to parents William and Madeline (McMullen). He retired from Buick Motors in 2001. Barry dedicated his life to A.A. and Al Anon with 24 years of sobriety. He was a member of Flint Project VOX, the Fog Lifters and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Surviving are wife Catherine; grandson Mark Barnes; sister Bonita “Bunny” Burns; nieces Shelly Kalahar, Melissa Russell Sherwood, Meghan Krausch; great-nieces Isabelle Kalahar, Victoria Sherwood; brother-in-laws John, Walter, Frank, Tom, Paul Grach; sister-in-laws Mary, Irene, Agnes Ann, Theresa, JoAnn,; several other nieces and nephews; step-sons Joseph, Kelly and Nathan; his friends from A.A. and Al Anon. Preceded in death by son Markie; his parents William Barnes and Madeline “Friitz” Pagel. Contributions may be made to the Church.
