WILLIAMS, Bernard W. “Beanie”, age 93, of Saginaw, died Friday March 18, 2011. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 5950 Gratiot, Saginaw, Pastor Briscoe Ellett II officiating. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum Chapel. Bernard was born on September15, 1917 in Mendon, MI, son of the late William and Blanche (Walker) Williams. He married Margaret Fischer on November 14, 1942 and she preceded him in death on April 12, 1978. In 1978 Bernard retired from the City of Saginaw following 30 years of service. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Saginaw and enjoyed playing Pool and telling his jokes. He is survived by sons Lamont C. (Sandy) Williams and David L. (Cathy) Williams, and special friend Aurora “Rory” Cook, and a brother Lamont (Carol) Wynne. Also survived by grandchildren Lamont (Lynette) Williams, Dana Purcell, Kendra Williams and Jeena Williams, great grandchildren Stephanie, Kyle, Kody and Jayden. In addition to his wife and parents, Bernard was preceded in death by brothers Merrill Williams, and Red Wynne, sisters Crystal Beckwith, Midge Kauffman, and Patricia Chin.
