Carl Kenneth Gano

September 14, 2011 at the Genesys Hospice Center, Goodrich, MI. Funeral

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Faith

Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Pastor Gerald Harms

officiating. Interment at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday

from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Carl was born August 2, 1924

in Easton, PA. to parents Arthur and Gertrued (Volk) Gano. Carl moved

from Pennsylvania to Flint in 1951. Carl served in the U.S. Army. from

1941 to 1947, receiving the Bronze Star. He was a member of Faith

Lutheran Church of Grand Blanc, VFW #822, Society of the 3rd. Infantry

Division Outpost 13, UAW Local 598. Carl retired in June 1983 from G.M.

Truck an Bus after 34 years of service. He loved hunting, traveling and

reading. Surviving are children Jo-Ann (Richard) Hryniewiecki of Durand,

Carl K. (Harriet) Gano Jr. of Sunset Beach, NC., Michael Lloyd Gano of

Holly, MI.; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces nephews

and cousins. Preceded in death by wife Agnes January 22, 1999; brother;

grandson Richard Hryniewiecki.
