Charlie gave me the chance to go on my own with his help supporting me and my partner in our new business venture in 1975. I'll always remember him for his wisdom and guidance. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Dear Mrs. Borton,
I was very sad to learn of your husband’s death.  Mr. Borton was a fine man and a pleasure to know.  It was an honor to have been his physician those many years.

You have my deepest sympathy.  My wife and I are in Arizona, otherwise I would have extended my condolences to you and your family in person at the funeral home.

This is the sweetest family I have ever met. Charlie (I sometimes called him Uncle Charlie) was a loving caring man. Loved his hot tea and custard pie. He always had a warm and friendly smile and a kiss for you. I grew very fond of Charlie and his family over the years and I will greatly miss him. Rest well Uncle Charlie! Carol

I have several fond memories of growing up with the Borton's as close friends of our family. We had many great times in the U.P. on that zip line, the lakes and the great trails we rode on. Charlie was a true role model and we will cherish the great memories my parents shared with Charlie and Leota.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  "Charlie' was one of a kind, you just can't think of him and not have a smile on your face.   Our favorite memory was of Charlie grilling some wonderful fish on his grill at the Northwoods Club.  Best fish we ever ate.  Not bad for a guy who didn't even eat fish!

Words fail me-my sister Leota and Chuck have always been a big part of my life. He was kind, loving and a friend to everyone he met.  The saying "he never met a man he didn't like" surely fitted Chuck.  You will be sorely missed.  Watch overus.

     With Charles Bortons passing we feel we just turned the last page to a wonderful chapter in our lives.  All the contributions and good things Charles did made our lives better...

What a wonderful and kind man.  Kitty and I have such fond memories of Charlie.  He loved the woods and to be involved.  We are better people having known him.  We will always remember Charlie when we see trees growing in the woods.  Thanks Charlie.  Mark and Kitty Juett

You left me with many great childhood memories! The first time I was brave enough to swim away from the dock and sleep in the trappers cabin alone with Lalaine and the dog. The first time I had BBQ moose. Thanks for making such wonderful memories for me! Ginger

A memory that Jim and I fondly recall is one of the Bortons.  It was Jim (my husband's) first trip up to the MNWC.  As all Juett's do, we took a swim across the lake to rest on the Borton's dock before our return to our own dock.  This day we were resting on their dock when we had a beckon from above, it was Mr. Borton inviting us up.  Well, Mrs. Borton had just made a strawberry rhubarb pie and they couldn't eat it all themselves. We gladly accepted the invitation and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the company of our across the lake neighbors.  We were 18 years old, and took away from that day a lesson of kindness and frienldiness which we do our best to share today... A lesson taught to us by some wonderful sweet people.  Thank you!
