Charles was an avid enthusiast of golf, fishing, and playing cribbage. He also enjoyed printing on a hand-fed print press. He retired from the Michigan State Police Office of Highway Safety, where he worked as an accountant.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Karen Pillsbury; sons, Michael (Mirjana) Pillsbury and Dr. Matthew (Tiffany) Pillsbury; daughters, Kelly (Joel Jr.) Rutherford and Kristi Hilbrecht; and grandchildren, Sky Pillsbury, Lily and Summer Heutel, Joel III and Kyle Rutherford, and Miranda Fromwiller. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Wanda) Pillsbury, sister, Mary (Dave) Fowler, and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. Pillsbury II and Mary Marjorie Butler.
A celebration of life will be held at the Davison Free Methodist Church, with details to be announced later. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to The LaVigne Home for Compassionate Care and the Davison Free Methodist Church.
