

Christopher Scott McGinnis, age 54 of Flint, went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born March 9, 1964 in Flint, Michigan. Christopher loved to sing, listen to all genres of music, and play his guitar. He also enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, and drawing. He was known for his big heart and he often went out of his way to help people. Many will remember his kind spirit and his habit of throwing up the peace sign and saying “peace and love!” He was strong in his faith and he loved the Lord. Christopher is survived by his sister Shelly Voss; nieces Jodi (Christopher Hobson) Voss and Asiah Dolak and her mother, Paula Dolak; nephew Dale (Laurie) Gillmore; aunt Kelly (Tim) Rabideau; cousins: Katie Rose, Jeremy, and Joel; great nieces and nephews: Mikayla, Roslyn, Axel, Laila, Sydney, and Harper; three men that he respected and looked up to: step-father Robert Bennett, Sr., George McGinnis, Sr., and Grandpa Gillmore; best friend Eugene; special close friends: the Blalinca and Gillmore families, and Marla and children; several other close family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Euva Gelane McGinnis; brother, Nathan McGinnis; grandmother, Euva Gelane Worden-Armstrong; uncles: Clyde Hartshorn and Brice Armstrong. A special thanks to all of Christopher’s friends and his family’s friends at Day Spring Ministry and Faith Tabernacle for always being there and everything they have done. Always remember how important moments are, and make the best of them. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to Carriage Town Ministries or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. No matter how rough your path or how far your journey…just keep walking in the light and remember, God’s got you and He will never let go.
