Clarence John Harbron, fondly nicknamed Jack, transitioned to his heavenly home on July 15, 2023. He lived four months short of his ninety-sixth birthday on November 16, 1927. Although he lived in Illinois and California, most of his life was in Michigan. The last four and a half years were in Fishers, Indiana, in assisted living, near his daughter Nancy. No specific diagnosis took his life, his aging body just shut down. He was in the company of his daughter Nancy, son Pat and daughter-in-law Lisa.
His transition was comfortable, peaceful, and spiritually strong. He shared of God’s faithfulness to his last days, specifically how God had answered every one of his prayers all the days of his life. He continued to serve God not only in testimony, but also by making little wood pocket crosses that Nancy would give to patients and medical workers at the hospitals where she serves as chaplain. He loved reading the Bible and heard the Book of John being read the day before by Lisa. His testimony was always filled with how marvelous God had been to him and his family. His family will remember the days they sat around the dining table with friends talking about the mysteries of the Bible.
As a veteran of the Navy in 1946-1948, he earned the World War II Victory Metal, USN Honorable Discharge Button, and Honorable Service Lapel Button. He will be served a military honors ceremony at graveside.
As a devoted son, husband, father, grand and great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Clarence is preceded in death by his wife Delphine Harbron, son Todd Harbron, and his parents Lloyd and Nioma Harbron. He is survived by his children Patrick Harbron and wife Lisa from Valparaiso, Indiana and Nancy Harbron from Fishers, Indiana. Also survived are grand-children Kellie Harbron, her daughter Charlotte Jozwiak, and Steven Harbron, his wife Laura and their children Claire, Cooper, and Carter.
Memorials may be given to the Grand Blanc Church of Christ, 4028 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to his care providers at Hamilton Trace Senior Living and Community Health Hospice. From the words of Jack, “We’ll just take it a little bit at a time.”A graveside committal service for Clarence will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand BLanc.
