
BURROW, Darrell L (Gabby) – Age 78, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Mr. Burrow was born August 9, 1933 in Flint the son of William and Pearlie Ann (Henson) Burrow. He served his country with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Gabby was a member of the Masons, Shriners and the Bay City Consistory. He enjoyed playing pool and golf. For 50 years Gabby worked for General Motors receiving many suggestion awards throughout the years. His greatest love was playing music and was an accomplished guitar and bass player. He played with many musicians including, Billy Walker, Dave Dudley, Red Stewart, Terey Bethel, Chuck Adams and Chuck Hatfield. Gabby was a member of the American Federation of Musicians. On April 18, 1953 Gabby married Sylvia Jo Brogan and she survives him. Also surviving are his children, Desiree (Ron) Tanner, Bridgit Lorrison, Darrell Burrow, grandchildren, Amber D’Andre, Angie Goodrow, Amy Pavlik, Jesse Swan, great grandchildren, Casey Storm Goodrow, Ava Jane Goodrow, Griffin Storm Goodrow, Eden Louise Pavlik, devoted brother-in-law and long time friend George Pierson, daughter-in-law, Janie, a host of nieces and nephews and many, many friends.. Mr. Burrow was preceded in death by his father William in 1970, mother Pearlie Ann in 1996, sister, Billie Jean Pierson in 2010 and son, Allan Dale Burrow in 1977. The family would like to thank Dr. Shaw and the Hurley Hospital staff of 5 East. Friends may visit the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
