

Frederick Stancil (Stan) Kilgore, of Flushing passed away at the age of 76 on May 4, 2025 in Flint, Michigan. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 30, 1948 to Stancil and Wilma Kilgore and later moved to Flint, Michigan. Shortly after graduating from Flint Central High School, Stan hired in at GM at the AC Spark Plug plant where he enjoyed his job, met his beloved wife, Glenda, and was a Committee Man for many years. Stan and Glenda married in December of 1970 and raised their daughters in Lapeer, Michigan. Golfing, yard work and taking care of his family were all things that Stan loved to do, and he was known for shutting down an all-you-can-eat buffet a time or two. Stan retired in Ocala, Florida and later moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas. After losing his wife, Stan moved back home to Michigan to live out his final years with his very loved cat, Emma, and enjoy driving his Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, “Ole Blue.”
Stan is survived by his brother, Gary Kilgore; brother-in-law and best friend, Wayne Horne; his daughters, Lori Sackett, Dora White (Mike), Heather Galliway (Mike), and Lisa Kilgore (Matt); 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandsons and many beloved friends. To many friends Stan was known as "Sweets". He will be missed immensely.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Stancil and Wilma Kilgore; his wife, Glenda; sisters-in-law Pam Kilgore and Barb Horne; and granddaughters, Bethani Sackett and Robyn Lemcool; and his dog, Sassi.
The family is holding a private viewing on May 7, 2025. Memorial contributions can be made in Stan’s honor to your local animal shelter or the Humane Society of Genesee County in Burton, Michigan.
