George Leslie Alward

George was born to the late Leslie and Eileen (Williams) Alward in Burton, Michigan on January 31, 1941.

He married the love of his life, Frances, in 1966. George was a Special Forces Ranger in the United States Army. For over 30 years, he was a middle school teacher who taught science and biology. George was also a football coach in the communities of Grand Blanc, Swartz Creek and Clio. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. George was an avid shooter, who also enjoyed archery and martial arts. George will be dearly missed by his loving family, and all who had the privilege to know him.

George leaves behind his loving children, Joseph Alward, Elise (Ryan) Sweeney, Karen Alward-Loomer and Brian Dykes; cherished grandchildren, Dylan Sweeney, Cayden Loomer, Chloey Loomer, Joshua Alward and Rachel Alward.

George is preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Frances.

A graveside memorial service will be set at a later time at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI.
