

O’BRIEN, Jacque M. – age 98, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly from East Detroit and Highland, MI, passed away on April 25, 2015. A Service will take place with military honors on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:30PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery – 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, MI. Jacque was born in 1916 in Dayton, OH. He was a retired Elevator Constructor and proud member of Union Local 36 in Detroit. Prior to his successful career in the Elevator Union, he was stationed with the United States Army in Oakland, CA. During WWII he served with troop transport in the Pacific. Jacque was married to Frieda B. Fickert for 75 years. His smile will be greatly missed by his surviving daughters, Peggy (Gene) Sousa, Sharon (Mark) Kerr; granddaughter, Kim (Erich) Chieca; great-granddaughters, Molly and Ericka; sister, Dot Hoffman, and dozens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jacque was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Rebecca (Wick) O’ Brien, 8 siblings; granddaughter, Melissa Teboe, and best friend, Andy Hoffman. O’BRIEN, Frieda B. – age 98, passed away on April 15, 2017 in Cape Coral, FL. She will be honored with her husband Jacque on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 12:30PM at Great Lakes National Cemetery – 4200 Belford Rd. Holly, MI. Frieda was born in 1918 in Detroit to Karl and Bertha (Welker) Fickert. After graduating Derby High, she attended Detroit Business Institute. She worked as a secretary for Gelatin Products during WWII. East Detroit was her home for 40 years but she kept a second home in Highland, MI and later in Cape Coral, FL. In her early years she enjoyed flower gardening and was also accomplished in sewing, piano, and oil painting. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Peggy (Gene) Sousa, Sharon (Mark) Kerr; granddaughter, Kim (Erich) Chieca; great-granddaughters, Molly and Ericka; brother, Carl Fickert, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Jacque O’Brien; granddaughter, Melissa Teboe, and best friend Thelma. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Frieda’s memory may be made to Hope Hospice – 9470 Health Park Circle Ft. Myers, FL.
