Janet Gonder of Grand Blanc, MI, age 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ February 9, 2026. Janet passed peacefully at home surrounded by love and comfort after a courageous year long battle with cancer. Born in Muskegon on September 9, 1952 to mother Juanita (Stowell) Main of Kansas City, MO and father Alfred Main of Muskegon, MI. A graduate of Orchard View High School in 1970, Janet then married the love of her life, Robert Lee Gonder, on January 16, 1971. Together, they celebrated 55 blessed years of marriage. She then dedicated her life to being a cherished mother, superb homemaker, and childcare provider through her home daycare where she cared for so many, including the entire Vetter family. Our Janet will be remembered as a truly strong, protective, and beautiful person. The best friend to many; her kindness, generosity, humor, and compassion will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her love and compassion for her family and all God’s creatures shall endure. Janet was a loyal Spartan, a pillar of strength, and of course our biggest fan. To treasure her memory are, husband Robert Gonder, her absolute world that are sons Robert Landon Gonder and wife Jenifer Gonder of Colorado Springs, CO, Ryan Andrew Gonder and wife Holly Rosser of Grand Blanc, MI, cherished Grandchildren Abrianna Gonder, Robert Gonder, siblings Chuck and wife Dianne Main, of Lacy, WA, Marilynn and husband Bill Brown of Jackson, MI, Patricia and husband Ron Amstutz of Hart, MI and twin sister Janise and husband Dale Burmeister of Shelby, MI, cats Oliver, Miles and Biscuit.
