

ALFORD, JOYCE MARIE (Hacker), died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Oaks, Grand Blanc, MI. She was the daughter of Frank and Marie (Gruenwald) Hacker and was born in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, March 20, 1932. Joyce was a resident of Atlas, Michigan since 1957. She is survived by her husband, Spencer and her seven children: Barry (wife Lucia Elden), Carol Cross (Mickey), Bruce (Lisa), Mike ( Roxanne) , Wendy Rau (Peru), Mary Hoover (Larry), and Kelly; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Marion Ennis. Preceded in death by brothers Frank, Byron, and Richard Hacker and a sister, Shirley. Besides being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joyce was active in church and community activities. She was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc where she sang in and helped organize the choir, before becoming a founding member of St Mark's Catholic Church in Goodrich where she also helped found and sang in the choir and was the Outreach East Liaison. She was a frequent contributor and performer in band-parent fund raisers at Goodrich Schools, and donated her efforts and to a variety of charitable functions for the schools and community. She was a singer, dancer and artist at heart. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Banc, MI with a Rosary being prayed at 7:30 P.M. Mass will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Father Bob McGraw officiating. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank The Oaks of Grand Blanc and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care.
