Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 11 AM – 2 PM and 4 PM – 8 PM with Rosary Service at 7 PM at Hill Funeral Home – 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church – 11824 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI with Monsignor Jerry Vincke celebrating. Kaleb dreamed of becoming an Emergency Room medical professional at a very young age. He began this path upon graduating Grand Blanc High School with honors in 2001. He received his Bachelors of Science in Human Biology in 2005 from MSU with high, high honors. He attended Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago in 2009. Upon completion of his residency at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in 2012 he accepted the position of Emergency Room Medical Doctor at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Kaleb filled the lives of many with joy, humor, and compassion. He traveled the world with his close friend Meisha to places such as: Egypt, The Dominican Republic, Puerto Vallarta, and Vatican City in Italy. He had a special place in his heart for Chicago and California. Kaleb was passionate about airplanes, he knew everything about them and loved to share his knowledge. It was rather impressive, when he could state the make of the airplane flying above him. He was fortunate enough to take flight in a Ford Tristar, he invited his mother Kim to join him on that special journey. He loved being an ER physician, and was loved by those who had the pleasure of working with him. There is even a plaque in Sparrow Hospital stating, “Dr. Lane is amazing”. His coworkers would often tease him, calling him Clark Kent, the Superman of Sparrow Hospital. Grinning ear to ear and showing his humor, he wore the superman T-shirt they bought him under his pressed, collared shirt and tie to work one day. His strength and compassion would fill the halls of the hospital even in the darkest moments, reminding us, this too will pass. Kaleb is survived by his parents: Kim Essa Dagenais, John Dagenais Jr., Kris Lane; cousins: Nicholas T. Essa II, Jordyn M. Essa, Nicholas T. Essa III, Julie A. Stewart; uncle: Robert Bowers; dear friend: Meisha Bray, and several family members. He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Beverly J. Essa; uncle: Nicholas T. Essa, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
