Lawrence Gareth McClain

McCLAIN, Lawrence Gareth – of Burton, age 59, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Phoenix United Methodist Church, 4423 S. Genesee Road, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 with a luncheon following the services at church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family. Larry was born on September, 20, 1953 in Romulus, Michigan the son of John and Marian McClain. He graduated from Flat Rock High School with the class of 1971. Larry was a welder, truck driver, worked on the railroad, and helped on a farm. He loved fishing and he was an animal lover. Larry was also a pretty good story teller and he helped run vacation Bible school. He was always helping other people. Surviving are: wife: Carole (Griffen) McClain; children, Dawn Anderson and husband Mark, Neil McClain, Ian McClain, and Allison McClain; step-daughter, Nicole Bentoski and husband Andy; grandchildren, Hannah, Mark Jr., and Henry; mother, Marian McClain; brothers and sisters, Linda McClain, Bryan McClain, Bradley McClain and wife Pat, Beverly Johnson and husband Garth; numerous nieces and nephews; God-daughter, Angie Galla; and many animal friends.
