Marcia was born on March 22, 1945, in Hillsdale, Michigan to the late Charles and Wilma (Lougheed) Gaylord. On June 9, 1969, she married her husband Timothy H. Butler and they cherished close to fifty years together until his passing. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Timothy II, Christina and Charity. Being a mother was her greatest accomplishment, and Marcia took great pride in that. Later in her life, she enjoyed being a grandmother as well.
Being a devout Christian, Marcia's faith was very important to her. She, along with her family members Reverend Donald Lougheed and Reverend James Lougheed, were founding members of Flint Baptist Temple. Furthermore, they helped begin many churches within the Genesee County area. She was a Sunday School Teacher and attended soul winning class with one of her best friends. Marcia truly lived a Godly life each day, and was always willing to share her faith with others.
Although Marcia was a loving homemaker for most of her life, she worked for Miracle-Ear for fourteen years and for Kirby vacuum for a brief time. Above everything else, Marcia was proud to be a loving mother, grandmother and Christian and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Butler family to assist in funeral expenses.
