Marie Elizabeth Beck

Marie Elizabeth Beck, age 97, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017. She was born on April 14, 1920 in Detroit to parents William and Marie (Lorenz) Hemmen. Marie graduated from St. Mary’s Commercial School in Detroit. After raising her seven children she went to work for Sander’s bakery. Marie enjoyed playing pinochle and spending summers at the Cottage surrounded by her many grandchildren. Marie is survived by her children: Frank (Patricia) Beck, Paul (Carol) Beck, Jane Frasier, Jack Beck, Larry (Debbie) Beck, Don (Carol) Beck, and Ken (Pat) Beck; 20 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; siblings: Joseph Hemmen, Barbara Siegfried, and Catherine Thomas; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Frank C. Beck; and four siblings. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Holy Innocents – St. Barnabas Church, 16359 Frazho Rd., Roseville, MI. Father John P. Wynnycky celebrating. Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:30pm. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Those desiring, may make a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association.
