

Marlis Jean Cain, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was born Thursday, February 2, 1933, in Waynesburg, PA, to the late Roy L. Corwin and Madeline King Corwin. Mrs. Cain graduated from Waynesburg High School, and later Waynesburg College in the class of 1955. She moved to Fraser, MI with her husband, John Norman Cain, following her undergraduate studies. She then completed her Master’s Degree at the University of Michigan in English Language and Literature graduating during the summer of 1959. Mrs. Cain was a highly regarded educator, teaching first at Lakeshore High School and later as an adjunct professor at Macomb Community College. She was an avid reader, writer, gardener, and an accomplished chef. She enjoyed getting people together and playing both bridge and golf with friends. Mrs. Cain is survived by: her sister, Carol Sue Fuller; her children, Cindie Bucks (Ernest), Jeffrey Cain (Rebecca), Jill Nylander (Mick); her grandchildren, Jessica Demeri (Nader), Janae Allen (Justin), Alexandria Nylander, Max Nylander, Jenavieve Nylander, and Nathan Grenniwalt. She also leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren and multiple adored nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cain was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and William Okuley, her brother, Daniel Corwin, and her former husband.

Friends will be received from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 and where services will be conducted Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM. After a memorial luncheon for friends and family, a family burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, MI.
