COOKE, Maxine J. – of Flint, age 85, was called home suddenly on Sunday, December 26, 2010. Her husband Clem, daughter Cindy, son Len and his wife Pat were at her side. Maxine was born on August 26, 1926 in Flint Michigan to Leonard and Loreta Smith. Clem and Maxine were married in 1948, celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary in September. Maxine was devoutly involved with the Salvation Army church where she taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery, and attended women’s league. Some of Maxine’s happiest times were spent with her two grandchildren Jen (Patrick), and James (Kerry), and watching her four great-grandchildren play around her. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends, but happy memories keep her in our hearts always.
Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI on Sunday, January 2nd from 3-5pm and 6-8pm. The funeral will be held at the Salvation Army Flint Citadel, 211 W.
