Michael J. Mathews – Age 73, of Grand Blanc, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. Mr. Mathews was born April 22, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan. He served his country with the U.S. Army. He loved golf, pool, animals and gospel music. Michael retired from General Motors where he worked as a Draftsman. He had lived in Arizona for thirty years before moving back to Grand Blanc five years ago. Surviving are his wife Joan Douglas-Mathews and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mathews was preceded in death by his first wife Paula, his parents, brother and sister. A Memorial visitation will be Friday, November 21, 2014 from 11 to 1 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, MI. The Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Combs will officiate. Burial will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
