Peter N. Walsh

WALSH, Peter N., age 76, of Grand Blanc, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Friday, December 5, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11803 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. The family will receive friends 10:00AM Friday until time of Mass at church. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday and Thursday 2:00-8:00PM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. A Rosary will be recited 7:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church Outreach Program.

Pete was born February 15, 1938 in Detroit the son of the late William George and Ethel Pearl (Kipp) Walsh. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1956 to 1960. Pete married the love of his life, Bonnie Ketelhut at Sacred Heart Church, Roseville on November 27, 1964. He was employed by Ford Motor Company for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church in many ways, especially enjoying his time with the 55 and Over Club. Pete also took time to share friendships at the Holly Donut Shop where his storytelling and sense of humor will be remembered fondly. In his leisure time, Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. More than anything, Pete was a family man. He thoughtfully cared and nurtured his children to adulthood giving them all the tools to be productive adults. He loved his wife, Bonnie and celebrated 50 years of marriage last week. He cherished the time they were together.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie; 3 children, Cynthia Walsh (Mike); Edward Walsh; Dr. Michael Walsh (Lyric); 5 grandchildren, Michael Charles Zurakowski, Riley, Ella Rose, Thomas and Aiden Walsh; brother, William Walsh (Alice). He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Celia Walsh.
