Sally had a passion for art, doll shows, gardening, home decorating and an endless love for her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances (Keefe) Glover; her brother, Jack Glover; and her sister, Barbara Matovina. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Jennifer) Kirschner; daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Saunders, and Irene (Pat) Highfield; grandchildren: Jessica Klein, Michael Kirschner, William Kirschner, Paul Kirschner, Alison Baus, Ashley Jobe, Anthony Jobe, Zachary Jobe, Matthew Saunders, David Saunders, Christina McCollum, Patrick Highfield, Jenna Highfield, along with numerous great grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Over the years, her primary job was raising her family – but when time allowed she also worked outside the home at Interior Steel, Hudsons Department Store, and Office Products Outlet, Inc.
She believed wholeheartedly in the value of the US Postal service and regularly took the time to mail notes and cards to her friends and family. She never missed a birthday and her cards were easily identified by her signature stickers covering the envelopes along with her elegant handwriting. Not only did the post office facilitate sending out her cards and letters - but her postal carrier was also frequently laden down bringing her the latest dolls and magazines to be added to her immense collection.
Sally was known for her beautiful gardens. She pored over her Blooms and Birds magazines exploring techniques and plants. Anxious to get her hands into the dirt, she would plant seeds indoors before the frost lifted. She then meticulously planted her dazzling array of colors in pots and gardens wherever she lived. From the fruits of her labor, she made beautiful bouquets which she graciously shared with friends and neighbors. Her gardens live on at her daughters’ homes. She shared with them her love of gardening along with sprouts, bulbs and seeds from her garden.
She was quick to engage in conversation with those she met along the way, treating people from all walks of life equally. She had a generous heart. She loved jazz music, all things Irish, shopping at the Dollar Store, watching HGTV and James Bond (especially when it featured Sean Connery).
