Violet Elaine Ward

WARD, Violet Elaine, age 66, of Flint, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at home. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Rev. Tom Mattiuzzo officiating. Visitation will be 1:00PM-8:00PM Monday, June 22 and 1:00PM Tuesday until time of service at the funeral home.

Violet was born July 25, 1948 in Midland, the daughter of the late Walt Braley and Bonnie Jean Snead. She was a waitress for many years in a variety of restaurants locally, the most recent Brians Family Restaurant. Violet enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and friends. She was passionate about rescuing cats and dogs which needed loving care. She was a true and dedicated Detroit Tiger’s Fan, even following the team through her last days. More than anything she loved her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving companion, James Garant of Flint; sons, Robert Murray (Colleen) of Flint, Raymond Murray of Jackson; grandchildren Jason Montney (Angela) of Clio, Ryan Burton (Nichole) of Flint, Richard Murray, Jessica Murray; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Mark, Nathan, Nicholas, Roxanne, Xavier; sisters, JoAnn Sliger (Jerry), Madeline Braley, Eva Braley, Vicky Jean; brothers , Jeff Braley (Diane), Wallace Braley.
