DOTY, William Douglas “Doug”, age 87, of Grand Blanc, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Doug was born on January 22, 1924 in Riley Center, Michigan, son of the late John and Ella (Cleveland) Doty. He was a graduate of Capac High School, and a graduate of G.M.I. Doug began his employment with General Motors in 1942 and retired from Buick Motors in 1981 following 39 years of service. An Avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed the outdoors and spent winters in Myrtle Beach. He was also a life member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge of Denver, Colorado. Doug is survived by his wife of 64 years, Verna (Sperry) who he married on June 13, 1947. He is also survived by his daughter Lynn, and husband Jim, Johnson of DeWitt, Michigan, grandchildren Drew Doty and Erin Doty, and Great Grandson Isaiah. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Doty. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 12 noon to 7 pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S.
