He served in Okinawa, Japan during Vietnam as Lance Corporal working on the hydraulic systems of the C-130 aircrafts. He received the National Defense Service Medal. “TO BE A MARINE YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN: YOURSELF, YOUR FELLOW MARINE, YOUR CORPS, YOUR COUNTRY, YOUR GOD. SEMPER FIDELIS.”
Vince married his lifelong childhood sweetheart from the second grade, Nancy in 1981. They were married for 43 years. He enjoyed his career in auto sales meeting many different people and of course for his love of cars. He brought so many home over the years for us to enjoy. He enjoyed traveling with Nancy. His favorite places were Estes Park, CO, Yosemite, CA and Mackinac Island, MI. He was able to enjoy one last trip this past summer with his wife Nancy and dear friends Mike and Debby.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service held in the Spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
This man is the true meaning of love. He gave love like it was his life’s mission.
Love is a never-ending verb. One that lives in you with many different varieties.
It means doing the mundane, boring, normal routines of everyday life.
It means adding a little extra boost of something beautiful even if it’s a small gesture.
It means going above and beyond.
It means sitting there in the shadows being present during the storms.
It means always having your back.
It means loving hard even when it’s tough and it seems impossible.
It means bringing everything you have to the table despite sometimes when it seems it’s not warranted.
It means getting up in the middle of the night to drive up a mountain to watch the sunrise.
It means blaring music on a motorcycle ride with the wind in your face.
It means giving a silly unnecessary gift because when you see it, it fills your heart with the joy of how much love you have and want to share.
It means singing all these years that we are his sunshine.
May we all learn a lesson from this man. May we strive to love like him. May we keep his memory alive sharing the way he loved to others.
