Adele passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital for complications of diabetes. She was born on April 7, 1937 in DeBeque, Colorado to Demetrio and Beatrice Cordova. Adele moved to Fruita at an early age and this is where she met her husband Larry Palmer, they were married on September 1, 1961. Adele was a homemaker and there is where she helped raise all her grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She loved being around them and they loved being around her. Adele loved yard sales, picking asparagus and going to her friends and families birthday gatherings. Adele is survived by her husband Larry Palmer, sons Gary Peterson and Sam Palmer, daughters Debbie (Butch) Vanlandingham and Rhonda Palmer, five grandchildren; Scott and Jason Vanlandingham, Dylan and Nicole Peterson and Larry Ryan, brother Joe Cordova and sisters; Arlene Hutchins, Isabel Baker, Mable Wooley, Mary Honaker, Helen Rich and Charlene Cordova. She is preceded in death by two brothers Dan and David Cordova, one sister Erma Walters and both parents. Adele will be greatly missed by her family and friends who will cherish their memories of her. A visitation for Adele will be held Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Martin Mortuary starting at 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., a celebration of Adele’s life will be held Monday, March 14, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Martin Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at Elmwood cemetery in Fruita.
