Arvilla Zee Spanicek

Arvilla Zee Spanicek, wife to Willis Ray Spanicek, mother to sons: Kevin, Quentin, Justin, and daughters: Noma, KaLean, and LaDean, passed away on November 23, 2025 at 8 PM. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Sun City West, surrounded by her family.

Zee was born March 15, 1944 in Elizabeth, CO. She had a happy childhood in Fruita, CO where she enjoyed life on the farm and graduated from Fruita High School. Zee chose to serve and follow the Lord at the age of 10 and finished the race faithfully full of peace.

She met the love of her life Willis while working in a fabric store in Grand Junction, they fell in love and were married June 8, 1968, for 57 1/2 wonderful years. They went on to raise 6 children and have 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren! Their family was their life's greatest joy.

Zee was a fantastic real estate agent in Colorado for many years and retired from her career in her 50's. From there they moved to Arizona, where Zee and Willis enjoyed their retirement, visiting family and friends, and enjoying fellowship in meetings. Zee had a real love and deep compassion for all those in her life. She enjoyed playing cards and domino games and talking with visitors and loved ones.

Known for her ability to seek the bright side of any situation, to love and cherish those around her, her strong faith in her Heavenly Father, brilliant smile, gorgeous paintings, artful embroidery, and so much more. Zee will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Zee’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.

Zee is survived by her husband and true love Willis, her children Noma (Kevin), Quentin (Tammy), Justin, KaLean, LaDean (Vincent), and many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and siblings Kathy (Monty), Darrell (Christy), Delbert (Pam), Eunice, and her precious kitty Baby Cakes. Zee is preceded in death by her eldest son Kevin and eldest grandson Drew, father Edward, mother Arvie, siblings Jr, LaRetta, Helen, Clay, Lorraine, Gale, and Tom.

A private ceremony will be held at Sun City West Foundation, 14465 R.H. Johnson Blvd. Sun City West, AZ. 85375. In the room named Webb at 11 am November 28, 2025. The Colorado service will be held at Martin Mortuary in Grand Junction, CO on December 11, 2025, and the family will receive friends there at 9am for a viewing and the service will start at 11am. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
