Mrs. Taylor was a facilities manager in transportation.
Survivors include her husband, Buck; four sons, Kevin of Denver, Frank of Fruita, and Mike and Shawn, both of Grand Junction; one brother, Art Gaschler of Longmont; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Betty Taylor, our beloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on June 4th, 2014. She touched so many lives with her energetic spirit and loving heart. Betty was born on September 6th, 1943 in Hays, KS to Frank and Eva Gaschler. She spent most of her youth in Sharon Springs, KS with her parents and older brother, Art. On November 10th, 1962 she married her lifetime love Virgil “Buck” Taylor and started their family in 1963 raising four boys, Kevin, Frank, Mike and Shawn. They moved to Grand Junction, CO in 1968.
Betty began her career as a school bus driver for the school district moving her way up to secretary and then manager of the Special Education Transportation. She eventually moved on to Transportation Manager and Facilities Manager for Mesa Developmental Services. She retired in 1999 but she never stopped working. Taking on various hobbies including quilting, stamping and scrapbooking. Her favorite hobby was enjoying the grandkids. Most recently cheering on “Big A and Little A” at their baseball games and watching “Little Miss H.”
She is survived by her husband, Buck Taylor. Her four sons and their wives, Kevin and Denise Taylor, Frank Taylor, Mike and Marianne Taylor, and Shawn and Tammy Taylor. Her brother and his wife, Art and Madge Gaschler. Nine grandchildren, Shannon Moore, Katie Taylor, Bekii Taylor, Austin Taylor, Alex Taylor, Cassandra Schenk, Stephanie Reichman, Jean Reichman and Ben Reichman. Three great-grandchildren, Destini Schenck, Michael Schenck and Conner Moore as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Family was always upmost on her mind and in her heart but she always had time for anything and everyone who asked for a little piece of her. Her memory will live on in all of us. She will be missed tremendously.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 9th, 2014 at 10am at Callahan Edfast Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to HopeWestCO.org.
