

Carl Gene Collins, a 76-year resident of Colorado living in Loma, passed way November 7, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Collins; daughters, Kris Collins (Stepson Jesiah) and Thena (Paul) Walton; two grandchildren, Eric (Kala) Walton and Rebecca Walton; and two great-grandchildren, Izabeau and Luke Walton. Carl is preceded in death by Vernita, Harry, Robert and Duane Collins.
Carl was a 50+ year member of Pipefitters Local 208 in Denver, in which he had many friends and associates from all the locations he worked across this country. Carl worked as a pipefitter and superintendent, and mentored and shared his knowledge with young apprentices and many others. In his later years, he moved up into Project Management on powerhouses and mines all across the U.S.
Carl was an avid fisherman and hunter all of his life. He never missed a chance to get the boat wet, and loved to take his grandkids fishing. In 2004, he retired to Loma and kept busy with Country Tree Movers.
