Carol Jean Bryant, 88, passed on January 15th, 2026, at La Villa Grande Care center after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Carol was born April 6th, 1937, to Carl and Mabel Stowe in Hidalgo County Texas. Carol and her family moved from Texas to Grand Junction when she was around 6 years old where she would live out her life. Carol graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1955. She played the French horn in the concert and marching bands. After graduation, Carol attended college in Denver where she earned a degree as a radiology technician. Carol worked many years as a radiology technician and eventually retired from Mesa Developmental Services as case manager aid. Carol worked at the Aspen hospital where she met her first husband James (Jay) E. Prince. They had one daughter, Tammy Lynne. Carol and Jay lived in Grand Junction and Carbondale where Carol worked in a restaurant and sold Avon the old fashioned way, door to door. Jay passed away in August of 1974. After the passing of her first husband, she met Roger W. Bryant and on March 20, 1982 they were married . Through Roger, she developed a love of all things Mopar. Over the years Carol and Roger owned several classic cars . They both were involved in the founding of Mopars Unlimited of Colorado. Carol served as President, Vice President and Secretary at different
times with the club. Carol was also a Denver Bronco fan and always watched the games, good season or bad. Carol will also be remembered for her love of cats and anything cat related. She always had a cat on her lap while watching classic TV shows and drag racing with Roger. She also loved and spoiled her two grandchildren, Skye and AJ. Carol is survived by her daughter, Tammy Jones of Grand Junction, Grandchildren Skye Jones of Federal Way, Washington and AJ Jones of Grand Junction Colorado. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mable Stowe, a sister Joyce Stowe, her first husband James Prince, her second husband Roger Bryant, a niece Ginger Mensik and a nephew Carl Thayer. Our family would like to thank La Villa Grande Care Center and Hope West Hospice for the amazing care they gave Carol and her family while in their care. A Celebration of Life is planned for Monday, May 11th at the chapel at Canyonview Vineyard Church. The service will take place at 11:30 am with internment to follow at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery where she will be placed to rest with Roger. If you have Denver Bronco gear or Mopar gear, please feel free to wear it to the service. She would love it!
